Our Wedding Weekend.

Leading up to the big day, we’ll be taking a little time to celebrate across a few beautiful spots in and around Cape Town. The weekend begins with sundowners by the sea at Tintswalo in Hout Bay, followed the next day by a Welcome Braai at Molenvliet in Stellenbosch. The celebrations conclude with our wedding at La Residence in Franschhoek.

  • Tintswalo Atlantic - Sundowners | Hout Bay, Cape Town

    • Tintswalo Atlantic is located in Hout Bay on the Atlantic coastline, about 30 minutes (20 km / 12 miles) from central Cape Town.

    • From Tintswalo to Molenvliet (Stellenbosch): ~70 km / 43 miles - approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

      From Tintswalo to La Residence: ~104 km / 64 miles - approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

    Molenvliet - Welcome Braai | Stellenbosch, Cape Winelands

    • From Molenvliet (Stellenbosch) to La Residence (Franschhoek): ~30 km / 19 miles - approx. 20 minutes

    • La Residence - Wedding | Franschhoek, Cape Winelands

    Tip: Tintswalo is located between Cape Town and Simon’s Town, home of Cape Town’s penguins. For those planning to visit the penguins, consider doing so on the 26th prior to the Sundowners event.

    Stellenbosch and Franschhoek are neighbouring towns in the Cape Winelands, a vineyard region inland from the city, and are about 20 minutes from each other.

  • For those joining us for sundowners at Tintswalo on Thursday, we recommend staying in Cape Town city for the night. For the welcome braai and the wedding in the Winelands, it’s best to stay in either Stellenbosch or Franschhoek. In the Winelands, we recommend staying at Molenvliet or La Residence, the venues for Friday and Saturday night, which are just 20 minutes from each other.place.

  • For Thursday's Sundowners at Tintswalo Atlantic, the dress code is Elevated Resort. Think a stylish sundress or linen trousers - something relaxed but still put-together, suited for a sunset by the ocean.

    Friday's Welcome Braai is Garden Cocktail. A summer dress, chinos, or a blazer without a tie all work well - comfortable enough for an afternoon in the vineyards.

    Saturday's wedding is Black Tie Optional. Floor-length gowns, a dark suit and tie, or a tuxedo. November in the Cape Winelands is late spring, so expect warm days and mild evenings - worth keeping in mind when choosing what to wear.
